Windermere Farm was heralded as one of the most beautiful gardens in South Africa in the early 1990’s (see “Inherited Gardens” article). It is no wonder then that brides have flocked to this location year after year to host their most significant event, their wedding. Windermere Farm has just completed their busiest wedding season to date! Weddings held at Windermere have seldom been under 100 people making Jan and Mark Stanford superb hosts for every large party. Consultations are by appointment only (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Karen and Douglas got married in December 2012 on the Windermere Farm with approximately 120 guests. Their wedding was coordinated by Nadia from “4EveryEvent.” The catering was done by “South Hill Wine Estate“. Their wedding was perfectly decorated in white and green tones – consistent with the surrounds of the farm. The photographer was Tasha Seccombe.
Tamsin and Walter hosted both ceremony and reception on the farm. The ceremony took place on the sloping hills over looking the nearby dams and Elgin valley. Guests were transported from the cars to the ceremony site by tractors used to pick apples. The ceremony seated all 220 guests on hay bails with aisles decorated with hydrangeas. The reception took place in the home garden. Photographers on hand were Taryn Ward and Videographers were from “Trend Videos.”
